Aromatherapy Massage

Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy Ashiatsu
Barefoot massage technique used to promote deep relaxation. Using ceiling parallel bars for balance and body weight for leverage, the therapist provides deep compression strokes to glide over the body, relaxing the muscles and stimulate the lymphatic and circulatory system.

Active Isolated Stretching (AIS)
Favored by today's athletes, massage therapists, personal trainers and professionals, AIS is a method of holding individual stretches for 2 seconds, allowing a maximal blood flow in and out of the muscles, which helps to increase the elasticity of muscle joint and fascia. The result is instantaneous and clients feel the benefits of Active Isolated Stretching both short and long term. Wearing loose fitting clothing is recommended.

Great for anyone short on time but in need of some TLC! The client remains fully clothed, seated in a specialty chair. We offer 15-minute chair massages at our practice, as well as in the workplace for up to 100 employees!

A gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. Using a soft touch which is generally no greater than 5 grams - about the weight of a nickel - practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system.

Cold Stone Therapy
Designed to address the vascular component of the migraine (and other headaches), cold stone therapy aims to reduce the overabundant blood flow to the head and brain, thereby normalizing the blood flow. The therapist positions specifically designed marble stones, cooled to approximately 36 degrees, to specific areas of the face and neck. We suggest a 30-minute or 45-minute cold stone treatment, or adding the cold stones to a longer session.

Kinesio TapingKinesio
Therapeutic taping technique that gives support and stability to joints and muscles without negatively affecting circulation and function. Medicine-free, latex-free, and waterproof, Kinesio tape is applied over muscles and connective tissue for a lifting effect that can reduce swelling, take pressure of pain receptors, and stabilize injured joints. It is used by athletic trainers, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and other health practitioners all over the world.

The Mana Lomi® technique is based on Hawaiian concepts of working with the "mana", or body, mind, and soul of an individual.The practitioner uses a multitude of techniques that affect the golgi tendon organ, muscle spindle fibers, and the pain receptors; utilizing the concept of compression and stretching away from muscle insertion points for both immediate and long-term relief.

Myofascial Release
A very effective and highly specialized stretching technique used to treat patients with a variety of soft tissue problems, to eliminate pain, and restore motion. Myofascial release sessions always look at the whole body; improper posture and self-defeating holding patterns are observed and addressed. Chronic and acute low back and neck pain often respond particularly well to Myofascial bodywork, as well as athletic injuries, range of motion problems, scar tissue release, and nerve compressions.

Prenatal Massage
Tailored specifically to the needs of pregnant women, Prenatal Massage can help reduce lower back pain, swelling, headaches, and is a great overall stress management tool for the expectant mother. We use a body cushion support system that enables our moms-to-be to lie face down, or if they prefer, we have several pillows and bolsters for side-lying massage therapy. Prenatal Massage is available only to those within their second or third trimester.

A massage technique based on the principles that there are reflexes in the hands and feet that correspond to every part, organ and gland in the body. Pressure point massage is applied to the feet and hands.

Reiki
Japanese energy work that utitlizes a gentle laying on of hands to cleanse and balance the energy system in the body. This modality is an excellent choice for clients who cannot tolerate deep pressure or have a sensitivity to touch. Reiki is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Acupuncture can provide a holistic, natural, effective approach to treating a health problem, and can provide a great complement or alternative to pharmaceuticals and conventional treatment - even for stubborn or re-occurring symptoms! And like massage therapy, it can also help you feel more relaxed, and optimize your mental and physical well-being. Common conditions that acupuncture treats include stress/anxiety, sport injuries, musculo-skeletal pain, digestive issues, allergies, women's health (PMS, fertility, PCOS, menopause), insomnia, and headaches or migraines.
